Orizon Essence respects the privacy of every person who visits this website, sends an enquiry or purchases through our linked online shop. This policy explains what information we handle, why we need it and the choices available to you.
1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to personal information handled by Orizon Essence through this website, direct correspondence and our business activities in Japan. Purchases are completed on the external Orizon Essence BASE shop, where BASE, payment providers and other relevant services also apply their own privacy terms.
Business disclosure details are available on our Specified Commercial Transactions page ↗.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Enquiry information: family name, given name, email address, business or organization name, location, enquiry type and the contents of your message.
- Order information: contact and delivery details, products ordered, transaction status and customer-service correspondence made available to us through the BASE shop. Full payment-card details are handled by the relevant payment provider rather than entered on this website.
- Business information: information needed to consider wholesale supply, events or collaborations, including your organization, role and proposal.
- Technical information: information ordinarily recorded when a website is accessed, such as IP address, browser or device information, date and time, referring page and pages viewed, where it is collected by our hosting or security services.
The form on this website prepares a message in your own email application. Your information is not sent to Orizon Essence until you choose to send that email.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information only as reasonably necessary for the following purposes:
- to answer questions and provide customer support;
- to process, deliver and administer orders made through the BASE shop;
- to manage wholesale enquiries and ongoing business relationships;
- to consider and communicate about events, content or other collaborations;
- to maintain the security and reliable operation of our website and communications;
- to keep records required for accounting, tax, dispute resolution or other legal obligations; and
- to improve our products, guidance and services using aggregated or non-identifying observations where practicable.
If we need to use personal information for a purpose that is not reasonably related to those stated above, we will explain the new purpose and obtain consent where required by law.
4. Service providers and third parties
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may entrust limited information to service providers only where it is necessary to operate the business—for example, BASE and payment services, delivery companies, website hosting, email services and professional advisers. We select and supervise entrusted providers as appropriate to the service and the information involved.
We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to a lawful request from a public authority, or where necessary to protect a person’s life, health, property or other important rights in circumstances permitted by the APPI.
5. Handling outside Japan
Some technology or communication providers may store or process information outside Japan. Where the APPI applies to such handling, we will take the steps it requires, including confirming relevant protection measures, supervising entrusted providers, providing information or obtaining consent when applicable.
6. Security measures
We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration or leakage. These measures include limiting access to people who need the information, using authentication and access controls, keeping systems reasonably maintained, selecting appropriate service providers and disposing of information when it is no longer required. Further information about our security measures can be requested using the contact details below, except where disclosure could compromise security.
7. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, an ongoing customer or business relationship, and any applicable legal, accounting or dispute-resolution period. When information is no longer required, we delete or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable.
8. Your rights and requests
Subject to the APPI, you may request notice of purpose, disclosure of retained personal data or third-party provision records, correction, addition or deletion of inaccurate information, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of third-party provision.
To make a request, email us with the subject line Privacy request and explain what you would like us to review. We may ask for reasonable information to confirm your identity and locate the relevant records. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and explain the reason if a request cannot be fulfilled in whole or in part.
9. Cookies and external links
Please see our Cookie Policy for information about browser storage. Links to BASE, producer websites and other external services lead to sites operated under their own privacy policies; Orizon Essence is not responsible for the privacy practices of those independent sites.
10. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version and its last-updated date will always be published on this page. If a change materially affects how previously collected information is used, we will take any additional steps required by law.
11. Privacy enquiries and complaints
For a privacy request, question or complaint, contact Orizon Essence at orizon.essence@gmail.com. We will review the matter and reply within a reasonable period.
